Delete your Google Account

You can delete your Google Business relationship at any time. If y'all change your mind, you might not be able to recover it.

Step 1: Learn what deleting your account ways

  • You'll lose all the information and content in that business relationship, like emails, files, calendars, and photos.
  • You won't be able to employ Google services where you sign in with that account, like Gmail, Bulldoze, Calendar, or Play.
  • You lot'll lose admission to subscriptions and content you bought with that account on YouTube or Google Play, like apps, movies, games, music, and TV shows.

More than data & content you'll lose

If you use an Android device

You'll no longer be able to use some apps and services on your device.

Google Play

  • You lot won't be able to get or update apps or games from the Play Store.
  • You won't be able to use music, movies, books, or magazines you purchased.
  • You'll lose whatever music you bought elsewhere and added to Google Play.
  • You might lose your game progress, achievements, and other Google Play data from your account.

Contacts

You'll lose contacts that are stored simply in your Google Account and not separately on your device.

Bulldoze

  • Data won't exist saved to Drive. This data includes photos taken with your device or files downloaded from emails.
  • You won't be able to download or upload files to the deleted business relationship.

If y'all apply a Chromebook

You won't be able to use any Chrome apps or extensions for the deleted account.

You'll still be able to:

  • Permit others use your Chromebook temporarily
  • Sign in with a Google Business relationship that hasn't been deleted

If your account has been hacked

Earlier you delete a hacked or compromised account, consider using Security Checkup to learn more about what parts of your business relationship were accessed without your permission. That way, you lot can take steps to reduce further impairment caused by the hacker. For instance, if you:

  • Salve passwords in your Google Business relationship, you can find out if they were accessed then you lot know if they need to be changed.

  • Save contacts in your Google Business relationship, you tin find out if they were downloaded then you can let contacts know if they should spotter out for suspicious messages.

  • Use Google Pay for transactions, you can check if there are whatsoever unauthorized payments and so that you tin can dispute them.

Of import: Once your account is deleted, you tin can no longer use Security Checkup to review action in that account.

  1. Become to the Data & Privacy department of your Google Account.
  2. Scroll to "Your information & privacy options."
  3. SelectMore than options and thenDelete your Google Account.
  4. Follow the instructions to delete your account.
